Saudi Arabian water company, Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), has revealed plans to pump over 4.6m m3 of desalinated water on a daily basis, thereby ending any possibility for water shortage this summer.

SWCC governor, Abdul Rahman al-Ibrahim, stated that the firm has indeed completed all preparations to meet increasing demands for electricity and water during the summer season.

Plants alone are set to supply 2.8m m3 of water, as well as 1,812MW of electricity to the network every day.

Meanwhile, 1.8m m3 of water is expected to be pumped on a daily basis through private suppliers, added the governor.
