DEWA sends 29 employees from its ‘Frontiers Leadership Development Programe’ to Singapore to keep up with the latest technology and practices in leadership,  power and water production

As part of its strategy to provide the latest training to its staff and introduce them to the latest practices and technology used in power and water generation, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) sent its employees in the “The Frontiers Leadership Development Programme” to Singapore. The first visit lasted from 25th to 27thMay, and the second extended from 31st May until the 2nd of June. The visit involved 29 participants from various departments and sectors in DEWA

H.E.  Saeed Mohamed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA said: ” In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum – Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai , to train and qualify Emirati leaders who will take over responsibility in various functions and in pursuit of the vision of Dubai for a new generation of leaders, DEWA sent ‘The Frontiers Leadership Development Programme’ employees to Singapore.  The purpose and main objective of the visit is to see the latest practices applied in the field of leadership and get acquainted with the latest technology used in power generation and water.”

DEWA organises a number of programmes and special courses in training and leadersship for its staff to refine their skills, develop their knowledge and update them on leadership and excellence, in addition to technical aspects of power and water production.

Dr Yousef Al-Akraf , Executive Vice President – Business Support, DEWA, said: ” During the two visits, DEWA staff exchanged experiences in the field of energy and water. The Frontiers Leadership Development Programme employees also forwarded several questions and a number of experts from PUB answered their questions and queries.”

The visits included a number of activities and workshops, a visit to the Lee Kuan Yew University and several seminars on Singapore’s experience in the management of water resources and the excellence model, field trips to the NEWater Centre, the Marina Barrage, SingSpring Water Desalination Plant, which is Singapore’s largest and Senoko Power Station, the largest power station plant in Singapore.
