Bell & Gossett has introduced a new 1” through 2” 3DV Triple Duty Valve that performs all of the functions of three valves that are normally required to balance systems for smaller pump applications. By incorporating three valves in one, the company claims that the new valve saves significant money in material costs and minimises installation time.
The new Triple Duty Valve includes a calibrated balance valve, a spring loaded check valve and a shut-off valve. The calibrated balance valve, the company pointed out, optimises system operating efficiency and provides precise flow wi
th a maximum range of control; the spring loaded check valve prevents gravity circulation and backflow in the system, particularly in jobs with zoned pumping, parallel and standby pumping, and condenser water applications; the shut-off includes a calibrated nameplate and memory button allowing the entire valve to be returned to its initial balanced position after shut-off.
Additional features of the Triple Duty Valve include:
- Three valves in one…balance, shut-off, and check
- Cv ratings from 9 to 28…ideal for your applications
- Variety of Sizes 1”, 1 ¼”, 1 ½”, and 2”
- Choice of MNPT threaded or rotatable flange inlet connection allows close mounting of the valve to the pump discharge or downstream from the pump
- Extended handles and PT Valves standard for ease of insulating systems
- The valve is available in a standard straight pattern flange design
Bell & Gossett has claimed that the new valve provides the lowest pressure drop of any similar valve. Furthermore, it meets ASHRAE 90.1 requirements for energy efficient operation and is compliant with the National Energy Building Code Standards.
