The symposium is dedicated to discussing the between desalination and the environmental health of the Arabian Gulf’s waters. ‘Desalination and the Gulf: The Relationship between the Environment and Meeting the Region’s Water Needs’ is being organised under the Patronage of H.E. Eng. Fahmi Bin Ali Aljowder, Minister of Works and Minister in Charge of the Kingdom’s Electricity and Water Authority. Symposium participants will gather to explore the issues, learn and exchange views on the impact of desalination plants on the Gulf. Armed with the facts, stakeholders will then develop a comprehensive plan of action, a Blue Paper, to ensure the Gulf’s long-term environmental well-being. The programme for this symposium has been finalised by the members of IDA’s Environmental Task Force.
